This is the first part of the first series out of six series that documents my trip to Greece back in March. During my trip, I had the opportunity to learn more about the Greek Weightlifting Training System and film the training of many athletes of the Greek National Weightlifting Team, as well as meeting some amazing people and making new friends along the way.
This series contains the training session of the second day of the week of my friend Alexandros Kouvakas (who is part of the Greek national Olympic Weightlifting team) under his coach Dimitri Vellianitis in the Athina Weightlifting Club.
Normally the training sessions are divided into morning and afternoon sessions but at that day he had only one light training session.
The training session started around 12 pm and was composed of:
Barbell Back raises
Banded Scapular retractions
Partial GHR/ Russian Curls
Power Snatch + Overhead Squat up to 130kg
Power Clean + Jerk up to 170kg
High reps back squat with a band around the knees
After finishing up his volume for the day, Alex did other accessory exercises which are not in the film.
