Welcome back to another episode of the strong and athletic podcast! Today is a special interview that I did with Omed Alam’s coach straight from the gym where Omed Alam’s train, in Hillarod (Denmark).
Maciej, a Polish born, is a physical education teacher that was recruited by the legendary Olympic weightlifter Zygmunt Smalcerz to help form better Olympic weightlifters in Denmark. Maciej met Smalcerz when he was training with the junior national Polish team. He won many titles at the national and at the European level and has an extensive experience coaching elite athletes.
While Omed was coached by different coaches across his years of development, Maciej was and still one of the fundamental coaches that helped develop Omed and influenced his career. In this interview, we talk about Maciej’s career in Olympic weightlifting and sports. We discuss how he met Omed Alam and how he helped in his development. Moreover, we discuss a very important topic in Olympic weightlifting which is the low vs high hip starting position.
Thank you for tuning and enjoy the interview!
